Not able to write on n2elite tag

Hello, I am new with a n2elite reader. I have issues running the reader. On MacOSX I cannot read the tag... With the windows version I get the message, that the firmware from the tag is outdated and I should update. But this leads to an error.

Could please someone help? Which version is the best to use on both platforms and which cable from amazon are you using..
On the n2elite page, there is no mac version 2.xx
